Pax Ranch House sits on 2,000 acres of highland savannah outside Gilgil — a working cattle and horse ranch tended by three generations of the same family. The two farmhouses were built in the 1930s and have welcomed guests since 2018, always one party at a time, always with the rhythms of the farm gently present.

At 6,500 feet, the air is cool, the evenings are fireside. Acacia woodland, seasonal streams, and open grasslands roll toward the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley.
From the north boundary you can walk to a ridge that looks across Lake Elmenteita — pink with flamingos in the wet season.

Forty horses — a mix of Boerperds, thoroughbreds, and gentle ranch-bred stock — share the paddocks with a herd of Boran cattle. The farm is self-sufficient in vegetables, herbs, eggs, and dairy.
Guests are welcome to join morning chores, the weekly cattle move, or simply watch from the veranda with a coffee.
